Crafty Birds provides sewing lessons for adults and children, in Ampthill, Bedfordshire.
Sewing courses for those who want to learn to sew, like really sew, properly!
Courses are fun while packed with professional sewing skills, techniques, and knowledge, to take away and continue your new hobby with confidence at home
All of our classes are taught by fully qualified teachers of fashion and textiles, who have Fashion and Textile university degrees, experience in the fashion and textile industry, and are practising teachers at Redborne Upper School during the day.
All of our sewing lessons are held in the well equipped, modern, and comfortable sewing studio at Redborne Upper School.
It’s a large studio with plenty of space to spread out your fabrics and equipment across large tables, with additional sewing machine stations.
We have a full range of machines and tools for everyone to have their own individual one to use, or you are welcome to bring your own machine and tools if you wish.

Crafty Birds was set up by Anneka, a fully qualified fashion and textiles teacher. We have four tutors here at Crafty Birds; Anneka, Denyse, Jessica, and Jane. Crafty Birds proudly only hires tutors with both a teaching qualification and university degree within Fashion, Textiles, Dressmaking, and Tailoring.
We all work as Fashion and Textiles teachers at Redborne Upper School during the day, happily opening the doors of our classrooms to others who want to learn to sew.
As practising teachers we are knowledgeable, skilled, and experienced in teaching children, teenagers, and young adults, capable of applying differentiated teaching techniques to ensure everyone learns and makes progress at a Crafty Birds sewing course. All tutors have a full DBS clearance. For more information, and contact details, click here.
