So many people want to learn to sew, but are often held back by the expense of starting a new hobby. At Crafty Birds, all machines and equipment is provided; the sewing machine, overlocker, fabric scissors, chalk, and more! The pattern (template) to cut out your fabric pieces are also provided to use during the course. All we ask is that you bring a pot of your own pins, which you can pick up in the supermarket, fabric shop or market stall, or Amazon, for as little as £1. You can dip your toe into the world of sewing, before committing to buying any equipment to have at home.
Sewing doesn’t mean having to buy new fabric all the time. Reusing unwanted textile items work just as well, and reduce our carbon footprint! Bed sheeting, large sized men’s shirts, or summer maxi dresses can all be cut up and sewn back together to create something new, beautiful, plus with a story behind it, particularly if it came from a keepsake item.
Each course is priced differently depending on the length of the course, and the project you will make. Crafty Birds provides a range of price options for each course, to suit different budgets. The price you pay reserves you a place at each weekly session, plus the kit you need to make the project. The price option you choose affects the type of kit you receive. Please ensure you have read this before booking your place on a course.

A final note….
There is not one set Magpie price applied to all courses, or one set Flamingo price, etc. Each course is generally priced differently to another, depending on how long the course runs for, and what the project is that you are making. When you browse the courses, you will find the Magpie, Flamingo, Parrot, and Peacock prices for that course. If you would like further advice about the prices, please contact Anneka by emailing hello@craftybirds.co.uk
